呂玫穎使用身體政治與歷史文本的再製造生產,藉此呼喚隱藏在國族情懷下的魅影。在作品中,飽含唐吉軻德式的莽勁行動及消遣的遊戲態度,畫面中的人影筆直站立於各種具有歷史意義的建築前,表情肅穆莊嚴,與之對立衝突的是帶有滑稽諷刺的吃地圖動作,彷彿永不疲倦的重複機械性吞嚥。藉由攝影行為完成另一道反抗之舉,攝影成為一道宣示、一道手續、一道儀式。透過吃地圖,經過身體消化後排出帶有紙屑的糞便,譏諷強權文化對台灣這塊孤島上的影響與控制。

Lu used the remade and reproduction of body politics and historical texts to call the phantom, which is hidden by the national feelings.
In the artwork, full of Don Quixote’s reckless activities and recreational attitude, the person stood straightly in front of the famous historical buildings, expressed solemn and dignified. Conflicting with it were the funny and ironic actions of eating maps as if it has never been tired of repetitive mechanical swallowing action.
Through photography to complete another revolutionary movement, photography becomes a declaration, a procedure and a ritual. By eating maps, my body digested and excreted the faeces which were contained with paper scraps, mocking the effect and coercion that influential culture did to the lonely island, Taiwan.
